Abstract

Ion Mihălcescu - Compendium of Symbolic Theology, Printing of Church Books, Bucharest, 1902 - Analysis. The study makes an analysis of the first Romanian Symbolic: Compendium of Symbolic Theology (1902). In the history of Systematic Theology disciplines, the appearance of the first handbook of Symbolic Theology in Romanian Orthodoxy, more than 120 years ago, is a moment that cannot be overlooked. Its author, the priest professor Ion Mihălcescu, later Metropolitan of Moldova, was one of the greatest dogmatists of the Romanian Orthodox Church, considered the greatest Romanian theologian of the first half of the 20th century. Although written more than a century ago, during which important progress was made in clarifying the doctrinal differences between the three great Christian confessions, Ion Mihălcescu's compendium, retains its relevance.
