Raising children is a complex and challenging responsibility. In a constantly changing world, it is essential to focus not only on academic education but also on developing the emotional and social skills that will contribute to their future maturity. Providing an environment that encourages responsibility, empathy, and critical thinking can be crucial in this process. One essential first step in raising a mature child is to cultivate their empathy. This can be achieved by introducing discussions about emotions, both their own and those of others around them. By teaching children to express their feelings and understand others’ perspectives, we help them become adults who can navigate interpersonal relationships with respect and openness. Techniques such as roleplaying or reading stories that include moral dilemmas can be very helpful in this regard.
