Abstract

Although more than a century old, the volume Ortodoxia şi creştinismul apusean (Orthodoxy and the Western Christianity) signed by the second Patriarch of Romanian Orthodox Church, Nicodim Munteanu remains current, the author proving to be a good connoisseur of the realities characteristic of the Reformation period—a crucial event in the history of the Church, Protestant ecclesiology, but also the principles, aspirations and consequences of Protestantism, which we highlight: desacralization, secularization, rationalism, individualism, anthropocentrism, relativism, subjectivism and ecclesiological pluralism.
