Studies in the Orthodox sphere, analyzing, forecasting and diagnosing the presence of the Church in the virtual environment are in their first stages. We will meet many initiatives in the Protestant and Catholic environment, but fewer in the Orthodox environment. Today, it is important to pass through a theological and scientific filter the monastic presence in the virtual environment. How can the virtual world be reconciled with monastic life, globalism with asceticism? Can we speak of a real impact on Internet consumers? What expectations do the believers have? What is the most popular content? What impact can the online mission of monks have if presented in a professional manner? In the present study, the authors try to highlight how two personalities of the Western monastic world carry out their mission online and indirectly promote a new type of monasticism, too little known in the Orthodox Church, a missionary monasticism in the orthosphere”.
