Abstract

In the present study we intend to investigate the conception of Saint John Chrysostom regarding the Holy Scripture, the necessity of the Scriptures, the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, the interpretation of the Scripture, the reading of the Holy Scriptures, the purpose, the time and place of reading it, the reasons for reading the Holy Scriptures, how to read it and the benefits of her reading, according to the testi- monies from the Homilies to the Gospel according to John.
