Abstract

The present research travels through the conceptual and psycho-emotional universe outlined by the Italian psychiatrist Giacomo Dacquino1, attempting to focus, from a pastoral perspective, on the sad phenomenon of mistreatment by the younger generation of those who have reached old age. We „cut out” from the thinking of the emeritus Italian professor an exciting conviction: each of us is interested in love, in our third age more than ever: the fact of feeling loved greatly increases our selfesteem, at any age we are. And the lack of love is an indication of religious desertion and lack of spiritual sensitivity.
